Music
Music has always been a great companion to me. It’s helped me get through life’s roller coaster as I connect to the sounds and rhythms and experience life through it. I guess that’s why I love photographing the musicians, dancers and artists to continually feel connected to their work and be inspired to capture their genuine expressions, stillness, movement and emotions. I document a brief moment, still frames, and create imagery to dance along with the artists who perform their hearts out. I feel compelled to capture these moments that are ever so fleeting in live performances.
Events
My best images are captured in a natural state. I don’t often pose people (unless it’s to gather people for the necessary group shots). I document the events as they occur, much as that of a photo journalist would do, however I usually do some artistic imagery in the final stages of edits. Overall in the moment of capturing your special occasion, be it a natural light portrait in a natural landscape or an photos in an urban or industrial environment, if you are camera shy and find yourself needing some guidance, Relax. Breathe. And in borrowing this quote from Oscar Wilde: “Be yourself: every one else is already taken.”
